Today’s my birthday, so I thought it would be cool to talk about some of my favorite books from when I was growing up! I always had a book in my hand (still do), so I can’t capture all of the books I enjoyed below, but here in no particular order are a few!

Warrior Cats

This is one of the series my sisters and I used to re-read constantly, act out, and draw. We loved the Warrior Cat Series (still do). The Prophecy Begins (the first set of books in the series) were always my favorite. I enjoyed Fireheart’s journey a lot. The clan structure, battles, and entire concept about cats battling was amazing!

The Last Dragon

This series was definitely in my top 5 favorite series growing up and it might be time for a re-read. Clay dragon’s coming to life was such a cool concept! I always wished that I would discover one. Dragons in general are still really cool to me and I would love to write a book including them at some point.

Nancy Drew

Nancy drew has been a classic character for many years and I still got excited when I found out they were making a tv show about it (I haven’t seen it yet, but if you have comment below what you thought). I loved the mystery, intrigue, and strong female MC in these books. My sisters and I used to play Nancy Drew video games, which were honestly so hard we still haven’t beat some of them to this day haha.

The Boxcar Children

I remember enjoying these books. I liked the sibling dynamics (having 3 siblings of my own). I liked the self sufficiency of the children, how anything seemed possible as long as they worked together and the fact that they found ways to make the boxcar homey.

Misty of Chincoteague

This series made me want to travel to Chincoteague and Assateague and own a horse! Two things that so far I have not done, though I have ridden a few times since reading these books. Horses are beautiful and intelligent creatures, and people who own horses or ride professionally are amazing to me.

Guardian’s of Ga’Hoole

This series was awesome! I mean warrior owls is a great concept! They incorporated different types of owls, put them on a journey, and had them become warriors. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they did the movie version!

The Magic Tree House

I really enjoyed this series! I don’t think I ever read all of the books in this series, but I definitely read a lot of them. I loved the mystery and the travel in these book. Each one had a different location and adventure!

Cam Jansen

These books were great! A different mystery in each book, a great best friend, and a girl with a photographic memory. I remember trying to say “click” like Cam does and remember something (it never worked as well for me as it did for her).

Percy Jackson

This series was great and I am still a fan of it. I love the play on greek mythology, kids having superpowers, and good versus evil. Each book was a new adventure with magic, gods, and prophecies. I remember enjoying the movie adaptation and I can’t wait to see how the upcoming Disney+ tv show turns out!
