As promised in my December Newsletter the first blog post of 2021 is going to be discussing my author goals for the year!
Last year I set 5-6 author goals and this year I decided to do 10! My top three out of the 10 are to 1) Keep querying Flightless and hopefully sign with an agent, 2) Finish writing my 5th book, and 3) Connect with more authors. Below you can see all of my author goals.
For my goal “finish writing my fifth book” this was going to be the book I started for NaNoWriMo 2020, but lately I’ve been having another good idea rolling around, so we shall see maybe I’ll end up writing 3 books this year!
Goal #3 “Edit one of the books I have written” is one I really want work on this year because while I enjoy writing, for me editing takes more time and focus, so I definitely want to stay motivated for this goal.
One goal I didn’t put on the list up there, but falls under “Read/listen to 36 books” is to read/listen to at least one book on writing. I believe self improvement is always important and I know I can always learn more things about writing and the publishing process.
I’m excited to get started working on achieving these 2021 goals!
